Open houses slated for local schools

Open houses for Clark County Public Schools begin this week as summer hits the home stretch and the first day of school quickly approaches.
The first day of school will be Wednesday, Aug. 15.
Open house dates are:
— Clark County Preschool: 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 1, 2 and 6
— Campbell Junior High School: 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, for seventh-grade students, and 5 to 7 p.m. for seventh- and eighth-grade parents and students
— Conkwright Elementary: 5 to 6 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 9
for kindergarten and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for first- through fourth-grades
— George Rogers Clark High School freshman orientation
9 to 11 a.m. for last names A-K, 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for L-Z, Thursday, Aug. 9. Students only come for 30 minutes anytime between those time slots. Parents can come with their child and attend a question-and-answer session, however this is not mandatory.
Students will get their schedules at this time. If your child is unable to attend then they can pick up schedules after Friday, Aug. 10 in the front office.
— Baker Intermediate School: 8 to 11 a.m. for fifth-grade students and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for fifth-grade students and parents,
Thursday, Aug. 9; 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 for sixth-grade parents and students. — Justice Elementary School: 5:39 to 7 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 13
— Shearer Elementary School: 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 13
— Strode Station Elementary
School: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for kindergarten and 7 p.m. for new parents only, Monday, Aug. 13
Operation Registration is also wrapping up this week. Operation Registration is district-wide, and every Clark County student, current or new, must register.
A parent or guardian from each household should attend and complete the registration verification process. Students are not required to attend, according to the district’s website.
Operation Registration continues today from 11 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. at Campbell Junior High School. The last date of Operation Registration is Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. at Campbell.
The 2018-19 school year bus routes are also available online on the district’s website.
