A former Clark County principal was found not-guilty last week on charges related to child pornography.

Todd Wilson was exonerated by a jury of all charges related to child pornography charges stemming from an investigation that began in 2019, according to Clark County Circuit Court officials.

Wilson, a former member of the Clark County Schools Board of Education and the principal of Clark County Area Technology Center, was arrested in August 2019 2019 on 15 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor as well as 15 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

The alleged incident led to a complaint to Richmond state troopers that Wilson possessed “explicit child performance” and had distributed it to someone else.

Following an interview, the Kentucky State Police noted that about 15 images were found on Wilson’s phone.

Though reportedly admitting to sending the images to a pair of females through a search warrant affidavit, an automatic not guilty plea was entered by Clark and Madison county Judge Cole Adams

Meier due to each charge being a felony.

Under Kentucky state law, each count would have been considered a Class D felony, and – if convicted – Wilson could have spent up to one to five years in prison for a first time-offense.

According to Kentucky Revised Statute 531.335 as part of state law, possession involves, “the deliberate, purposeful, and voluntary viewing of matter depicting sexual conduct by a minor person and not to the accidental or inadvertent viewing of such matter.”
