Eighteen non-profit organizations will receive a share of the Clark County Fiscal Court Foundation funds for this year.

Wednesday, the court approved the disbursement list, following the application process and review by a committee. The recommendations were approved unanimously.

This year, the committee recommended:

— Rapha Ministries, $1,500 for meals.

— Clark County Community Services, $5,000 for food.

— Clark County-Winchester Heritage Commission, $6,500 for wiring and sidewalk repairs

— Winchester Labor Day Committee, $2,500 for activities.

— BCTC Clark County Adult Education, $5,000 for programs and events.

— Clark County Community Education, $5,000 for programs and events.

— Rowland Arts Center, $2,500 for meals and events.

— Clark County Homeless Coalition, $2,500 for audio-visual equipment.

— Winchester-Clark County Unity Committee, $1,500 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day events.

— Bluegrass Heritage Museum, $5,000 for sound system and books.

— Clark County-Winchester Heritage Commission, $3,000 for a barn roof and curbs at Lower Howard’s Creek.

— Junior Achievement, $2,000 for events.

— Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival, $5,000 for activities and events.

— Chamber Beautification committee, $1,500 for flowers.

— Beacon of Hope Emergency Shelter, $3,000 for operating costs.

Three other requests were approved with the condition of matching funds by Aug. 1, 2018.

— Clark County High School alumni, $1,200 for a marker, requires $1,200 match.

— Winchester Youth Soccer League, $6,000 for bathrooms, required a $69,000 match.

— Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation, $10,000 for splash park construction, requires $355,000 match not including City of Winchester’s matching funds.

Committee chairman Sheila McCord said the committee also approved $14,250 for the transit service, $17,000 for the debt service on the pool at College Park Gym and $3,500 for fireworks for the 2018 Fourth of July celebration.

The disbursements totaled $100,950. The balance of $898.81 will be added to the county’s rainy day fund.

The checks for those groups without a required match will be issued Sept. 18, Clark County Judge-Executive Henry Branham said.
