A Clay City man was killed Friday in an accident near the intersection of Rockwell and Clintonville roads.

Noah T. Farmer was ejected from the pickup truck he was driving, according to the accident report at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Farmer was driving a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck on Clintonville Road around 5:20 p.m. Friday. According to the report, a Kia Soul, driven by Kristi Reynolds of Eaton, Ohio, entered the intersection from Rockwell and struck Farmer’s truck.

Farmer’s truck then struck a guardrail and overturned. Deputies noted the driver’s window was rolled down and the driver’s seat belt was fastened, but Farmer was ejected from the truck. Deputies do not believe Farmer was wearing his seat belt.

“It appears either they didn’t see the truck or they went through the stop sign,” Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said. “We don’t know.”

The Kia carrying Reynolds and her passenger Christopher Smith, also of Eaton, Ohio, stopped a short distance down Clintonville Road. Reynolds and Smith were both transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, according to the report.
