A Winchester man is facing multiple charges after allegedly crashing a stolen truck into a home Sunday night, stealing a pair of shoes from a second residence and trying to hide from police in a third.

Kyle Cleaver, 39, of 3140 Old Boonesboro Road, was arrested Sunday night by Winchester Police at a residence on Market Street.

According to court documents, officers were called to 523 Kiwi Drive just after 8 p.m. after someone crashed a construction equipment truck into the front porch of the residence.

The truck, which was owned by Reynolds Sealing and Striping of Bowling Green, was reported stolen earlier in the day from Elizabethtown with a load of lane-marking equipment, police said.

Neighbors told police they saw Cleaver enter 521 Kiwi Drive and steal a pair of shoes and flee. While officers were searching the area, they were flagged down by residents who said Cleaver was hiding at 320 Market St.

The occupants of the home said Cleaver entered the home, told them to tell officers his name was Neal and went to hide in a back room.

When officers found Cleaver, he was wearing the shoes from 521 Kiwi Drive.

He also had orange paint on his clothes like that which was sprayed inside the truck cab.

Cleaver was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass, receiving stolen property more than $10,000 and second-degree wanton endangerment.
