Two Clark County residents were arrested Monday for allegedly providing illegal drugs that caused a fatal overdose.

Byron Babb, 43, and Tabatha Greer, 33, were both charged with second-degree manslaughter for the death.

The victim’s name and date of death were not immediately available Tuesday morning.

Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said deputies responded to a call of an overdose on Rosebud Lane.

“When they got there, he was already deceased,” Perdue said. “Through the investigation, both of the accused were confirmed to have been there and the only ones that had been there.

Detectives believe Babb and Greer supplied the drugs that led to the overdose.

Perdue said the autopsy determined the victim died from the “combined toxic effects” of fentanyl, norfentanyl, hydrocodone and dihydrocodeine.

“It was a fatal cocktail, more or less,” Perdue said.

Babb and Greer were arrested Monday afternoon and lodged in the Clark County Detention Center.

According to the state offender database, Babb is presently on probation for two convictions in Clark County, one for first-degree wanton endangerment in 2018 and another for second-degree criminal trespass, first-degree fleeing or evading police and third-degree assault from 2017.
