A reward continued to grow for information to convict the person who abandoned a sick puppy in a crate on the side of the road late last week.

The puppy, who was found in a crate along Old Ruckerville Road Friday morning, died later that day after animal shelter officials took the puppy to a veterinarian.

According to the Clark County Animal Shelter’s Facebook page, donations are being accepted for a reward through the Friends of the Clark County Animal Shelter. As of Monday evening, more than $900 has been donated to the reward fund.

After the puppy was found Friday morning, more than $3,100 had been raised for the animal’s care through donations online.

Shelter Director Adreanna Wills said the puppy was about 10 to 14 weeks old and had multiple health problems.

Wills said she believes the puppy was left at the end of a driveway on Old Ruckerville Road between 6:30 and 7 a.m. Friday. While there was food and water in the crate with the dog, Wills said she was too weak to life her head to eat anything anyway.
