A Clark County man was indicted Thursday for allegedly kidnapping his grandmother earlier this summer.
Thomas Ballard, 33, of 1725 Cole Road, was arrested in June hours after his grandmother, Naomi Wingard, was found in Montgomery County. According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Kenneth Ballard reported he was on the phone with Wingard June 7 when Ballard reportedly entered her house on Muddy Creek Road. Kenneth Ballard said he heard her tell Thomas Ballard not to come in the house, but he lost contact with her.
When Kenneth Ballard reached her home, Wingard and Thomas Ballard were gone. Later that morning, Kenneth Ballard said Wingard called him and said she was in Montgomery County and that Thomas Ballard forced her at knifepoint to drive her to Montgomery County. She said he then took off with her car.
