A Winchester man was jailed Friday evening for allegedly assaulting a man two nights earlier.
Christopher Gipson, 24, of 220 First St., was charged Friday with second-degree assault by Winchester Police, according to court records.
Gipson allegedly assaulted John Huguely on Tyler Banks Court two nights earlier in a physical altercation.
According to the arrest citation, Huguely was treated at Clark Regional Medical Center with a facial fracture, which led to hemorrhage.
Huguely was later transferred to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for emergency surgery.
On Friday evening, officers responded to a traffic accident near Almond and First streets.
Officers had already been alerted to watch for Gipson. While officers were still on the scene of the accident, Gipson was spotted and arrested.
According to the Clark County Detention Center, Gipson is being held on a $25,000 bond.
