Two jailed after police seize cocaine, $13K

Officers confiscated more than $13,000 in cash and seven grams of cocaine from a traffic stop earlier this week.

According to Winchester Police, officers stopped a Cadillac Escalade on Lexington Road as part of an undercover drug investigation. During the traffic stop, the department’s K9 unit alerted for the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, officers recovered a powdered substance believed to be cocaine,

The driver, 27-year-old Dalisha Crosby was searched as well, and officers found more cocaine on her person and in her purse. They also found Crosby’s purse, which contained $10,000 in cash, which was banded into smaller packages.

The passenger, 29-year-old Thomas Howard, was the suspect in a drug investigation, according to court documents. Howard reportedly wanted Crosby to drive him to Lexington to pick up cocaine. Using a GPS tracker, detectives followed the vehicle to Lexington and back to Winchester, where they stopped the vehicle on Lexington Road.

Police said the cocaine has a street value of about $15,000.

Winchester Police Capt. James Hall said the investigation is continuing.

Howard and Crosby were both arrested for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and lodged in the Clark County Detention Center. Both were arraigned in Clark District Court Wednesday.
