The Peach Tent is coming to Winchester, bringing with it South Carolina Freestone peaches and Tennessee Mountain Honey.

Jay Aikens, CEO of The Peach tent, said it will be a first-come first-serve basis, since it is their first time coming to Winchester.

He said they are bringing a limited amount, to ensure the product people purchase is at its best.

“We only have a day or two once these are picked to get them to you so they will be fresh,” Aikens said about the fresh tree-ripened peaches.

This may be The Peach Tent’s first visit, but Aikens said they are already planning for next year because of the welcoming responses they have received on social media.

Since starting up a couple months ago, the group already has more than 9,000 Facebook followers, Aikens says it’s the best way to communicate with them and how they gauge how much product to bring with them.

Aikens said they are still learning the radius they can travel to ensure their peaches are freshest for customers.

“Winchester is in the butter zone as they say,” Aikens said when it comes to distance and insured quality.

Their tent will be set up at Haggard’s Flower Shop at 808 Bypass Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, but Aikens said they’ll stay longer if it’s busy and people are still shopping.

Available for purchase will be 27-pound half-bushels of peaches for $32 or a smaller 7-pound batch for $10 and quart jars of honey for $10.
