CTE offering deals to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness
Clients can save money and honor a special cause during the next two weeks at the College for Technical Education cosmetology program.
The College for Technical Education cosmetology program is providing a special discount for a different service each day this week and next week in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Shawnda Miller, lead instructor at the cosmetology program, said.
“It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we wanted to be able to give back to the community,” Miller said.
The special is running during 10:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until Friday, Oct. 26 at CTE, 2135 Bypass Road.
Clients can walk-in unless otherwise noted.
The discounted rates are as follows:
— Oct. 18: Free manicure with pedicure by appointment only
— Oct. 19: 10 percent off retail with any service
— Oct. 22: $5 manicure
— Oct. 23: Wear a pink ribbon and get a free wax
— Oct. 24: 50 percent off cut and style
— Oct. 25: Free manicure with pedicure by appointment only
— Oct. 26: 10 percent off retail with any service.
CTE will donate all of the proceeds from the $8 haircut services Wednesday to a deserving family that has been affected by breast cancer. CTE is also holding a raffle for a basket of products worth about $150 in value to raise money for the family.
Miller said the discounted services are one small way of helping people.
“If everyone steps up and just did a little bit, a little bit adds up to a lot,” Miller said.
Miller said clients who take advantage of the services are not only helping the community but also helping the students further their training.
For anyone affected by breast cancer, Miller said to never give up, and CTE is there to help in anyway they can.
“Never stop fighting,” Miller said.
