Former University of Kentucky standout Reggie Hanson is coming to Winchester.

The Clark County University of Kentucky Alumni Club will host a book signing by Hanson 4:30-6 p.m. on Aug, 15 at Woody’s Sports Bar and Grill, located at 923 Bypass Road.

Hanson will be signing copies of his book, “10 Life Lessons: Learned as a Student-Athlete.” Copies of the book will be available for $15 each and Hanson will personally autograph each book purchased during the signing event.

The book features experiences that Hanson experienced during his collegiate career and how it played a role in his life. In the book, Hanson speaks about perseverance, mental toughness, leadership, preparation and discipline were just a few of the many traits he learned during his time at Kentucky.

Hanson’s first book was written in an effort to help prepare current student-athletes for their college and professional experiences and the “same lessons can also be applied to any individual seeking direction in their personal life and career.”

Hanson played at Kentucky from 1986-91 following a stellar prep career at Pulaski County High School. He was an All-Southeastern Conference performer from 1990-91 and later spent seven seasons as an assistant coach under Tubby Smith.

Hanson helped piece together the top college basketball recruiting class in 2004. He led Pulaski County to a state championship in 1986.
