Clark principal faces child porn charges
A Clark County principal and former board of education member has been arrested on multiple charges of child pornography.
According to the Clark County Detention Center website, Phillip Todd Wilson, 54, was arrested by Kentucky State Police Tuesday evening and charged with distribution of matter portraying the sexual performance of a minor and possession or viewing matter which portrays sexual performance by a minor.
In the arrest citation, KSP Detective Austin Brashear wrote a complaint was received Tuesday morning that Wilson possessed several images of “explicit child pornography” and had shared them with another individual.
Brashear said he interviewed Wilson and found about 15 images, but the citation did not say where the images were. Wilson was arrested at 5:19 p.m. at his residence.
Wilson is being held on a $25,000 bond in the Clark County Detention Center. Should be be released on bond, he would be prohibited from having contact with any minor children.
Wilson is the principal of the Clark County Area Technology Center and was appointed to the Clark County Board of Education in February 2016. He served less than a year before running for re-election and being ousted in the November 2016 general election.
