Nancy Elizabeth Metz, 54

Nancy Elizabeth Metz, 54, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.

She was at home with her family and her oldest friend, Dr. Nick Kouns. A retired Clark County preschool teacher, Nancy was a graduate of Morehead State University and Russell High School. She had previously worked for the Ky Lottery Corp. as a claims clerk before being promoted to Regional Training Coordinator. Nancy was a mother of four children and grandmother of two boys. She loved her family and Yorkie dogs. In her lifetime she traveled to Europe and South America with family. She loved the beach and boating. But most importantly she was always seen with a smile and a wave. She lived her life every minute to the fullest that she could until she could not. Honest and straight forward, she went through life with a style all her own and was firm in her faith and belief in God. She knew where she was going and that was alright with her.

She is survived by her husband, J. D. Metz III, daughters Kalyn Knight, Kamble Metz and a son Jerod Metz; grandsons Kaden and Wade Knight. She was preceded in death by a daughter Karen BreAnne Metz and her mother Avie Miller. She is also survived by three brothers, Tim Miller, Danny J. (Paulette) Miller and Matt Miller and two half sisters, Amber and Sarah, along with her uncles and aunt, Mike Miller and Lanny (Carol) Miller, her cousin Troy Miller and close friend and cousin Tracey Goebel. She was blessed to have numerous friends, family and coworkers.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 pm at Mt. Zion Christian Church, Winchester KY with services on Thursday at 9:30 am at the church. Followed by an additional visitation on Thursday form 1-2 pm at Raceland Christian Church, 210 Caroline Rd., Russell, KY. Graveside services at 2:00 pm at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, KY.
