Martha Elizabeth Walters Thomas, 88, widow of Ova D. Thomas and charter member of Anchor Baptist Church of Lexington, passed away May 27, 2019.

Martha was full of guidance & strength for family and others. She enjoyed singing with her church choir for many years and time spent with family. Martha retired from Osram Sylvania after 38 years of service. She was the daughter of Joe and Eliza (Puckett) Walters.

In addition to her spouse, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Martha is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Richard) Young; son, Wendell Franklin (Vickie Lynn) Adams and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted this Friday, May 31 at 10:30am preceded by visitation for the public at 9am at the Winchester Cemetery. Grandsons Rev. Nathan Young and Rev. Noah Young will be officiating the graveside service.

Pallbearers are: Bryce Sargent, Andrew Sargent, Wendall Adams, Richard Young, Mike Kathlina and Brian Simpson. Honorary pallbearers are: Harold Elliott, Billy Christian, Mark Christopher and Jason Martin.

Donations can be made to Autism Association of America or American Diabetes Association.
