Seventeen local nonprofit organizations will receive a piece of the proceeds from the Clark County Fiscal Court Community Foundation this year.

This year’s recipients were approved unanimously during Wednesday’s fiscal court meeting.

This year, the committee had $103,066.50 to allocate, Magistrate and committee member Sheila McCord said.

McCord said there were 24 applicants this year. Of those, 17 applicants were granted.

The committee also allocated $17,000 for the transit service, $14,250 for debt service on the pool at Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation and $4,000 for the Fourth of July fireworks in 2019.

The balance of $7,666.50 may be used for adding chimes or other upgrades to the new courthouse bell tower.

The foundation is partially funded by proceeds from the sale of the Rockwell International building. All funds awarded must be used for a public purpose.

The following nonprofit organizations received funds from the foundation this year.

— Rowland Arts Center $2,500, for meals.

— Winchester American Little League, $2,500 for a backstop and boundary fence.

— Winchester-Clark County Heritage Commission and Lower Howard’s Creek, $2,150 for machinery.

— Achieving Recovery Together, $3,000 for drug recovery program.

— Clark County Community Services, $5,000 for food distribution.

— Upward 40391, $5,000 for youth scholarships.

— Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation, $5,000 for playground equipment at Fairfield Park.

— Winchester-Clark County Salvation Army Service Unit, $5,000 to host a work camp group.

— Partners in Education, $3,000 for “Be A Man” book program.

— Bluegrass Heritage Museum, $5,000 for technology for exhibits and programs.

— Winchester-Clark County Unity Committee $1,500, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day events.

— Winchester-Clark County Heritage Commission $6,000, for heating and air conditioning replacement at Holly Rood.

— Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival, $5,000 for festival events.

— Chamber Beautification Committee, $1,500 for flowers and trees.

— The Beacon of Hope Emergency Shelter, $3,000 for operating costs.

— Winchester Labor Day Committee, $2,500 for annual activities

— Clark County Homeless Coalition $2,500, for education program expansion.
