Looking for a new job? Looking for a better job? Not sure where to start in the process?

The Bluegrass Community and Technical College Winchester-Clark County campus may be able to help next week.

Beginning Monday, the college will host workshops to help job-seekers brush up their resumes and cover letters and practice their job interview skills, Campus Director Bruce Manley said.

The job skills workshops will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday. The job fair will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday afternoon, the college is also hosting a job fair with about 30 businesses and industries scheduled to attend.

Both events are open to the community and surrounding counties.

“This is for anybody,” Manley said. “If you’re looking for a job, this is the place to be.”

This is the third year for the workshops and job fair.

After attracting about 200 participants the first year and 300 last year, Manley isn’t sure how many to expect.

“We realize unemployment is low” and many in the community are already employed, he said. “It’s a job-seeker’s market.”

Representatives from the Kentucky Career Center will be on hand all day Monday and Tuesday morning at the BCTC campus, 2020 Rolling Hills Lane. Manley said they can help job-seekers improve their resumes and cover letters, practice for job interviews and even find the proper clothes for an interview.

“We have people (coming) who do this every day and know what employers are looking for,” Manley said. “We can connect you with the right resources.”

The job fair begins at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Companies scheduled to attend include Catalent Pharma Solutions, which is sponsoring the events, Clark Regional Medical Center, Rose Mary C. Brooks Place, Winchester Farms Dairy, Winchester Fire-EMS, Valvoline, Toyota, Traditional Bank, the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet and more.

“We have a wide variety of jobs and employers that will be here,” he said.
