Man arrested for fighting five officers
Barely a day after being released from jail, Winchester Police re-arrested a man after he fought five officers at the hospital.
Carlos Cruz Dominguez, 26, is now facing five counts of third-degree assault on a police officer and single charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct following Tuesday’s incident at Clark Regional Medical Center.
According to court documents, officers were called to the hospital shortly after 2 p.m. after Dominguez became irate and was cursing at people in the emergency room.
Dominguez reportedly charged at five officers and began to fight them after officers put him on the floor. He allegedly refused to put his hands behind his back to be handcuffed, fought the officers as they tried to restrain him and spat on them, according to the citation. Officers said they had to put a face shield on Dominguez, and he was returned to the Clark County Detention Center.
Dominguez, who had no listed address, had been released on a $5,000 cash bond after being arrested Saturday.
According to police, Dominguez entered a residence on Stamper drive Saturday afternoon. The victim said Dominguez entered through the back door and refused to leave. When officers arrived, Dominguez had locked himself in the bathroom and removed his clothes. When officers opened the door, Dominguez was naked and refused to put his clothes on. He was arrested and charged with first-degree indecent exposure and second-degree burglary.
