A 10-member stormwater advisory committee was appointed by the Winchester Board of Commissioners Tuesday. A similar task force was created about five years ago to look at stormwater problems in the city and make recommendations.
Additional dancers have been added to the cast of “The King and I” according to Leeds Theatre and Performing Arts Center director Ralph Pate. They include Shelly Brantigan, Jennier Cole, kris Korsgaard and Eric Korsgaard.

An announcement from the governor’s office says there will be no statewide observance of Daylight Savings Time in Kentucky this year.
An increase in telephones in Winchester and Clark County for last year was reported today by Morris E. Futrell, Southern Bell group manager. Futrell noted that approximately 475 telephones were added in 1966. He added that the firm spent approximately $121,000 in the Winchester, Pilot View and Ford exchanges on expansion and improvement of service in 1966.
The highest American losses of the Vietnam war were announced today, reflecting the steadily rising U.S. military effort and Communist retaliation with heavier mortar attacks, mines, booby traps and hit and run assaults.
