Guests at the sixth-annual Boots and Barbecue fundraiser will be entertained by the musical stylings of The Classics, a local cover band.
The event — sponsored by Clark Regional Medical Center — will be Sept. 22 starting at 6 p.m. and will feature music, dancing, a barbecue dinner and beer provided by Pooh’s Que.
“It’s good food, good music and good company,” director Tim Janes said.
The money raised by the fundraiser helps the retirement community to take care of its facilities and cover the cost of the services it provides to residents. Janes said an example of projects that might be covered by money raised through the event is replacing carpet in the facility.
The event will also feature a live auction.
Tickets are $60 per person, or corporate sponsor tables for $480. The fundraiser has drawn crowds of about 200 in previous years, with a goal of raising about $10,000.
Rose Mary C. Brooks Place is a nonprofit assisted and independent living facility located at 200 Rose Mary Drive in Winchester.
The facility was created on 16 acres of land donated by the Brooks family and has 44 apartments and 64 independent living cottages.
