While the weather may still be slightly unpredictable, warm spring weather will eventually settle in.
As it has gained popularity, Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation will again be ready for the season.
Its Parks Mobile Recreation Unit will hold four pop-up events in the community in April, each on a Tuesday, so that everyone can come out and enjoy the environment.
The events will be held on April 1 at College Park, 15 Wheeler Avenue; April 8 at Harmon Park, 20 Meadow Street; April 15 at Heritage Park, 131 W. Washington Street; and April 22 at Massie Park, 125 Park Avenue.
Each event lasts from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A variety of games, some of which employ playground equipment and others brought by WCCPR staff, have highlighted previous year’s events.
Just as well, toys and free food are commonplace, while some events have allowed kids to even take advantage of opportunities such as receiving washable tattoos.
With the organization always looking to provide additional opportunities, WCCPR offers something additionally unique.
A petting zoo will make an appearance.
The petting zoo, which will be present on both April 1 and 15, is courtesy of Avalon Farm LLC.
Avalon Farm LLC has a variety of barnyard animals, including goats, cows, pigs, and more.
Inflatables will be present for kids.
These inflatables come courtesy of Kentucky Kids Bounce.
According to its website, the organization provides several bounce houses with slides that can incorporate classic characters, such as Spider-Man or Legos.
Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation staff will also be present to help oversee and guide the event.
