Legacy Greenscapes, which seeks to ensure that Clark County citizens have access to fun, safe, clean, and beautiful public spaces – including Legacy Grove Park – was founded as a nonprofit organization in 2017.
Recently, another accolade was added to its long list of accomplishments.
As stated in a press release from the Kentucky Association for Environment Education (KAEE), Legacy Greenscapes has been named the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Community Partner Award as part of the 2024 Excellence in Environment Education Awards. They are thus recognized as best exemplifying dedication, commitment, and influence in the field of environment education.
“Legacy Greenscapes exemplifies the power of community-driven environmental education, working to make the outdoors accessible to all ages and inspiring lifelong stewardship,” stated Ashley Hoffman, Executive Director of KAEE. “We are proud to recognize their commitment to environmental education and community engagement through this award.”
As a beacon of excellence in environmental education, Legacy Greenscapes provides comprehensive year-round programs for both children and adults in Clark County. At the heart of its mission, a commitment to fostering a love for the outdoors is emphasized.
Year-round programs provide works, hands-on experiences and educational opportunities that immerse participants in both nature and ecological concepts. Youth and adults alike engage in activities such as wildlife observation, composting, gardening, and outdoor play. Through offering diverse learning opportunities, Legacy Greenscapes ensures that environmental education remains accessible and engaging for all.
