Movie night is a great family offering

Bluegrass Community & Technical College-Winchester Campus wants to once again help families take their movie nights to the next level.
The Moonlight Movie Night series returns for its fourth year July 14. The event is hosted on the campus — in the beautiful space called The Green — and films are projected on a 200-foot screen.
The movie nights also feature free games and inflatables for families, food and drinks for sale and other vendors.
The premiere event will have some extra flair with a singing competition inspired by the first movie, “Sing,” which is sponsored by Ale-8-One and Kentucky Bank.
The participants will perform for a panel of judges. The results of the competition will be announced before the movie begins, with winners receiving trophies and bragging rights.
But this will just be the start of the fun.
Movie nights will continue July 21, when Amazon and the Clark County Health Department sponsor a showing of the new “Beauty and the Beast” movie, accompanied by a performance by Dancer’s Pointe. Show goers are encouraged to dress up like their favorite Disney character.
The series ends July 28 with a screening of “The Lego Batman Movie” sponsored by Clark Regional Medical Center and Winchester Federal Bank. The night will be superhero night, and families are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superheroes.
This screening will coincide with Readifest, which offers back-to-school supplies to families. The event attracted 1,000 people last year.
This three-weekend event is a great asset to the community as it offers free, family-friendly fun to cap off summer.
We applaud BCTC, its staff and all the sponsors that make this event possible each year. Their commitment to strengthening families and the community is priceless.
We hope to see the community embrace this and create a happy ending for everyone.
