With the election season in full swing, Clark Countians will want to know how, when, and where they can vote regarding the elections on Tuesday, November 5.

Luckily, that information is now readily available.

Absentee voting is now open through Tuesday, October 22nd.

“They can call in here, and then we can [mail out] the ballot for them, or they can go online and do it,” said Clark County Clerk Michelle Turner. “Most of them are calling right now.”

Absentee voting is reserved for voters who cannot vote in person on Election Day.

By late September, Turner estimated that over 200 ballots had already been mailed out.

“It’s [going to] be a big election,” she said.

To request a ballot, individuals can go to govoteky.com or call 859-745-0280.

Six days of excused early voting will occur from October 23-25 and October 28-30.

“If you did not want to do the mail-in [voting] but you’re not going to be here for the three days of early voting and Election Day, that’s the six-day excuse,” Turner said.

Three days of early voting, requiring “no excuse at all,” will occur from Thursday, Oct. 31, through Saturday, Nov. 2.

Early voting will take place at the Clark County Courthouse.

The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on October 31 and November 1 and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 2.

On Tuesday, Nov. 5, voting takes place from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

“You must vote [at] your precinct, or you can come here to the vote center [at Clark County Courthouse],” Turner said.
