John Oliver Ginter, Jr., 69, of Winchester, died Sunday morning, June 25, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born November 20, 1947 in Paris to the late John Sr. and Emma Crowe Ginter.

John was a life-long resident of Winchester, a photographer for East Kentucky Power and a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2816, former member of the Kentucky Guild of Arts and Craftsmen and a former member of the National Press Association. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include; one son, John Patrick Ginter of Lexington; one daughter, Emily “Kathi” Duty of Mt. Sterling; one brother, James Ginter of Richmond; three sisters, Louanna Brashear of Owingsville, Geraldine Speratos of California and Nita Richardson of Winchester; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
