Bruce Kyle Parsley, 77, Husband of Linda Parsley, departed his earthly home for his heavenly home on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, KY. Born on July 16 th, 1947, in Holden, WV. He was the son of the late Morris and Ida Spaulding Parsley.
In addition to his beloved wife of 32+ years, he is survived by his Bonus Daughter, Heather (Bobby) Wills, Granddaughter’s, Hayden (Bobby) Estes and Reagan Nicole Wills, Great Grandson, Collier Ryan Estes. Siblings, Robert (Ruth Ann) Parsley, Granville, OH and Barbara Hunter, Huntington, WV. Nieces, Lea Ann (Ryan) Davenport, Aimee (Ned) White, Tara Parsley, all of Granville, OH, Cristy Toney, Huntington, WV, Leslee (John) Feaster, Gibbstown, NJ., Nephew, Brian (Erin) Parsley also of Granville, OH. Four Great nieces and nine Great nephews, along with many cherished friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his nephews, Robert Martin Parsley, Mark Alan Hunter and Brother-in-law, Earle Hunter.
Bruce often said, the most important things in life were Faith, Family, Friends and Furry Faced Friends. He was a member of The Freewill Baptist Church in Stollings, WV and attended First Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Christian Church in Winchester.
Bruce graduated from Marshall University in 1969, where he received a BBA degree in Banking and Finance. He was recruited by F.D.I.C., retiring in 2004. In 2005, he worked five years for the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions and then went on to work for the Federal Reserve on a part time basis for two years. Retiring for good in 2017, Bruce dedicated 42 years of service in total doing what he loved.
Bruce loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of them. He was such a patriot, loving God and His country. He played little league baseball, loved any college football along with being Marshall University’s biggest fan, UK Basketball, Bluegrass Gospel music and old movies especially westerns.
A Celebration in honor of Bruce’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 17 th, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Christian Church, 3631 Combs Ferry Road by Pastor Kenny Speakes, and Reverend Don Burkhead.
