CC Fair kicks off on Saturday

It’s late June again, and that can only mean the Clark County Fair is upon us.
The event kicks off this Saturday, June 22, and will continue through the following Saturday, June 29.
Events occur at the Clark County Fair & Horse Show location at 4980 Ironworks Road.
On Saturday, June 22, the first event, the Central Kentucky District Youth Beef Show, begins at 8:00 a.m. An open Beef Show at 5:00 p.m. will conclude the evening.
In between, as is commonplace, a day full of pageantry awaits.
The Tiny Miss & Mister and Tiny Tot Miss & Mister pageant is at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Little Duke & Duchess and Little Prince & Princesses pageant at 11:00 a.m., and the Little Miss & Mister pageant at 2:00 p.m.
Admission for Saturday, June 22, is $5; $3/Head Fair Beef Show entry fee.
On Sunday, June 23, Home Economics and 4-H competition entries will be received between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Continuing with a day of pageantry, next at the fair will be the Ms. & Mrs. Clark County Fair show at 2:00 p.m.
Nearby, a horse show will also occur at 2:00 p.m.
Once more, admission is $5.
Monday, June 24, will be the day on which 4-H, FFA, and Home Economics entries for competition will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, June 25, carnival rides will open for the first time.
Gate admission is $12, and with this, you can use all of the rides.
Children aged two and under can enter for free. A $6 hand stamp is needed if they wish to ride.
Carnival rides will remain open through the final day of Saturday, June 29.
Gate admission will continue to be $12 daily, except Family Night on Wednesday, June 26, when they will be $10.
Carnival ride armbands will come at a cost of $15.
Through Saturday, June 29, children aged two and under will continue to be allowed to enter for free, but they must obtain a $6 hand stamp if they wish to ride.
In addition to carnival rides, each day features several shows and more.
On Tuesday, June 25, 4-H, FFA, and Home Economics Exhibits will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
An Open Goat Show will occur at 6:00 p.m., followed by an Agriculture Hall of Fame ceremony at 7:00 p.m., the KOI Dirt Drag Race at 7:00 p.m., and the Miss Clark County Pageant at 7:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 26, 4-H, FFA, and Home Ec. Exhibits will continue to be open from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
There will also be a 6:00 p.m. pedal pull followed by mutton busting and old-fashioned fair games.
A rabbit show followed by the poultry show will occur at 6:00 p.m., with donkey races at 7:30 p.m.
Another pageant, Miss Teen Clark County, occurs at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, June 27, features 4-H, FFA, and Home Ec. Exhibits once more open from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A CGTPA Garden Tractor Pull occurs at 6:00 p.m., with an Open Swine Show at 7:00 p.m.
The Miss Pre-Teen Clark County Pageant is at 7:30 p.m.
On Thursday, June 28, an Open Sheep Show at 6:00 p.m., a 6:30 p.m. Sam L. Smith Concert with Jordan Miller as the opening act, and a mud run at 7:00 p.m. will take place.
Certainly not least, Saturday, June 29, features a Bluegrass District Sheep Show at 8:00 a.m. and a Power Wheels Derby and Demolition Derby at 7:00 p.m.
From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Home Ec. and FFA entries can be picked up.
