Funeral arrangements have been confirmed following news of the passing of Sgt. and former Winchester Police Chief William Marty Jackson II late Sunday night.
According to the Facebook page of the Winchester Police Department, services for Jackson will be held in the gymnasium of George Rogers Clark High School on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
From 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., visitation is open exclusively for family and members of the Winchester Police Department.
Immediately after, public visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. and will last until service time, which is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
“Following the funeral service, the procession will travel from GRC, down the Bypass to the Interstate. The procession will exit the Interstate at Exit 96 to come into downtown on Maple Street. The procession will pass by WPD Headquarters before continuing to Lexington Avenue, ending at Winchester Cemetery.”, stated the Department’s Facebook page.
Individuals attending services at George Rogers Clark High School will be directed on where to park and enter the gymnasium.
Those who can not attend yet wish to line the funeral procession are encouraged to do so safely.
As stated in the Facebook post, the family of Sergeant Marty Jackson and the Winchester Police Department continues to thank the public for an outpouring of support. They would also like to thank Clark County Public Schools, Scobee Funeral Home, and Supporting Heroes – a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the families of fallen first responders – for their hard work and participation in the upcoming funeral service.
