Representative Ryan Dotson and Senator Greg Elkins announced on Friday, April 5th, that Clark County will receive $106 million in funding under legislation approved by the Kentucky House and Senate and sent to Governor Andy Beshear for his consideration.

Projects include the following:

• $3 million in fiscal year 2025-2026 to the Department for Local Government to be distributed to the Clark County Fiscal Court to support a water project.
• $2 million towards the Fort Boonesborough swimming pool.
• $27.2 million across the biennium for Clark County Road Projects.
• $6.8 million in the 2026-2028 biennium for furniture and equipment for the Clark County Judicial Center.
• $67 million towards the local facilities fund for the Clark County Judicial Center.

“This one-time funding will make a huge difference for our community. The investment lays a foundation for adequate drinking and wastewater in Clark County. Additionally, I am excited to announce the funding for the Fort Boonesborough swimming pool. While this pool is not in Clark County, it will provide nearby recreational opportunities for our residents,” Dotson said. “These budgets prove the value of Clark County as this is the biggest investment that the General Assembly has made in a single session. This is why Senator Elkins and I want to continue to work to bring this kind of funding to the community we love.”

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my first session as Senator for the 28th District and am incredibly pleased with the achievements Representative Dotson and I were able to secure for Clark County,” Elkins said. “The $3 million allocated to the Clark County Fiscal Court to support a wastewater project for the residents of Clark County should help prevent the imminent failure of at least two package plants constructed more than 50 years ago. I’m particularly grateful to my colleagues for recognizing the need and benefit of allocating nearly $27.2 million specifically for Clark County road projects across the biennium, notably the East Bypass project being reinstated in the road plan, which we hope to fund with federal dollars. The work does not end with the final day of the legislative session. I will continue to work with Representative Dotson and our local elected officials to address other critical needs in our county.”
