The George Rogers Clark High School wrestling team continues to show success in leaps and bounds as the year nears an end. 

“It’s our final week of the 2023-24 Wrestling Season and it is going to be a busy one,” wrote GRC wrestling head coach Chad Grant. “I’m pleased with the results this weekend and the progress the wrestlers have made. We will be sending three GRC boys wrestlers to state [sic] this year.” 

During the Region 6 Wrestling Championships, a state qualifier, at Frederick Douglass High School on Saturday, Feb. 10th, the Cards saw success from four different individuals. 

Senior Quentin Falls, in the 165-lb. weight class, finished in second place. 

Fellow senior McCaden Skeens, at 175-lbs., finished in fifth place as an alternate. 

Junior Bryan Falls, competing at 215-lbs., finished in fourth place. 

Certainly not least, freshman Braylen Livingston finished in fourth place in the 150-lbs. Class. 

Both Quentin and Junior Falls, as well as Livingston will be competing in the KHSAA State Championships took place at Alltech Arena in Lexington on Thursday, Feb. 15th, and Friday, Feb. 16th. 

In the first year that the KHSAA is sanctioning a girls’ wrestling state championship, the third-year Lady Cards’ wrestling team will be well represented. 

Junior Aanyah Betancur returns to the tournament after a strong finish to last season. 

Joining her this year will be sophomores Bailey Fletcher and McKenzie Bush, as well as 7th grader Danica Patrick.
