In the heart of the holiday season, amidst the jingle of bells and the twinkling of lights, Shearer Musical Theatre hosts a festive holiday tradition—the annual Santa’s Breakfast and Holiday Bazaar Fundraiser.

For ten years, Shearer Musical Theatre has hosted this event. Activities include carnival games, story time, holiday crafts, performances by RDC and GRC Band students, a cake walk, and of course, shopping from local vendors! The menu is sure to please both children and adults, with pancakes, sausage, and scrambled eggs. Breakfast also includes a steaming cup of hot cocoa or coffee, or a cold glass of milk or orange juice – and of course, free refills!

Beyond the delicious spread and fun activities, Shearer’s Santa’s Breakfast raises funds for the school’s theatre program. Shearer Musical Theatre produces a fully-costumed, fully-choreographed theatrical production each year, with a cast of kindergarten through fourth grade students. This year’s show, “Disney’s Finding Nemo Kids,” opens in January with a cast of 71 students.

“Our Santa’s Breakfast is one of my favorite days of the year,” said Collin Berner, director of Shearer Musical Theatre. “It’s fun to see all of the families and supporters of the arts come together for a fun-filled Christmas event.”

Becky Howton, the organizer of this year’s event, discussed the vendors who will be at this year’s Holiday Bazaar.

“We have around 30 local vendors that are participating in this year’s event,” Howton said. “Vendors will be selling a variety of items. We have vendors for well-known brand items like Scentsy and vendors selling homemade crafts and gifts. It will be a great spot to buy Christmas gifts.”

This year’s Santa’ Breakfast will be this Saturday, Dec. 2, 8:30-11:30 a.m. (breakfast ends at 10:30 a.m.) at Shearer Elementary School. You can purchase tickets at the door. All-inclusive tickets are just $10.00 each and include all activities and a picture with Santa. Breakfast-only tickets can also be purchased for $5.00. Shopping at the bazaar is free.
