Mount Sterling mayor to speak at Bluegrass Heritage Museum’s 2nd Thursday

Mount Sterling Mayor Al Botts will be latest speaker at the Bluegrass Heritage Museum’s 2nd Thursday event.
He will present a program entitled “A Decade of Growth and Change, Mt. Sterling, 100-1910.”
The doors open at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the presentation.
Botts assumed office on Jan. 1, 2019. He served as a city council member from 2015-2018. A 1987 graduate of Montgomery County High School, Botts holds a bachelor’s in history from Columbia (Mo.) College, and is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery County.
He is a retired United States Marine with service in over 28 countries around the world, including deployments to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait (Desert Shield/Desert Storm), Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Bluegrass Heritage Museum is located at 217 South Main St. and is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
