Barbara Angel, 77, widow of the late John Angel, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Lexington Country Place.

She was born on October 21, 1939, to the late Solomon “Jack” and Phyllis Yonker Portnoy, in Brooklyn, New York. Mrs. Angel was a 1960 graduate of Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She worked at Veterans Hospital and retired from Clark Regional Medical Center. She was an active member of Pink Ribbons Partners and the Red Hat Society. 

She is survived by seven children, James Angel, Darlene (Maurice) Hisel, Joanna (Dan) Banks, Myra Angel, Regina Smith, Zeldon Angel and Albert (Lori) Angel; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one sister, Reggie Schultz; and two brothers, Arthur and Barry Portnoy.

Services will be at 10:00AM Friday, May 26, 2017, at Scobee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Friends and relatives will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00PM. In lieu of flowers memorial are suggested to Clark County Public Library, 370 S. Burns Ave., Winchester, KY 40391 and/or The Pink Ribbon Partners, c/o Catherine Gatson, 306 Carolina Ave., Winchester, KY 40391.
