The George Rogers Clark Cardinals are off to a rough start on the young season.
The Cards (1-2) were shut out twice and outscored 7-0 during their first two road games.
Great Crossing defeated GRC 3-0 in the season-opener on Aug. 8, and Woodford County blanked coach Nicholas Vogel’s squad 4-0 in Versailles on Aug. 15.
The Cards did defeat West Jessamine in their home opener, 2-1, on Aug.10. Seniors Clay Turley and PK Vogel, two of the team’s returning leading scorers, netted for GRC, while fellow senior Jacob Ebert assisted on a goal.
GRC play away on Thursday against Pulaski County and will then play a home match against Campbell County at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
