Floyd Kenton Brooks, 79, widower of Vina Lainhart Brooks, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023. He was born October 2, 1943, to the late John R. Brooks, Jr. and Emma Ruth Lawson Brooks, in Winchester, KY. He served in the US Marine Corps and worked as a guard at Lowes Building Center. He is survived by his daughters: Nancy Brooks, Angie Bennett and Nicole Lainhart; sisters: Shirley Stanfield and Sue Keller; grandchildren: Stacey Dobbs, Adam Bennett, Dana Slone, Heather Fallen, Logan and Duncan Bennet, Peyton and Zack Bradley; also several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his daughters Jennifer Lainhart and Susan Brooks Kaylor, grandsons, James Abner and Joshua Lainhart. Services will be on Friday, July 14, at 2:00 pm, at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, with Kenny Speaks presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service. Burial in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.
