A report of an armed intruder at a Winchester residence has led to a slew of charges for one man.

Chase Alexzander Ross, 23, faces 1st-degree wanton endangerment and burglary charges, a charge of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and a charge of discharging a firearm within city limits after he allegedly kicked in the door at an undisclosed location late last Saturday.

According to the arrest citation, witnesses told Winchester police that Ross allegedly pointed a gun at everyone inside the residence before two subjects disarmed him, at which point he fled to a restroom within the residence.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they located Ross in the restroom and he was taken into custody.

The citation states that Ross informed police he was asleep and “had no knowledge of what officers were asking about.” The officers reported that they found a loaded revolver in a dresser drawer with one spent casing still inside.

Earlier in the evening, Winchester police were dispatched to a residence on Linden Lane in reference to a report of a suspected person with a gun.

Witnesses at the scene told police that Ross was at the residence and had become angry and “started asking where his girlfriend was.

The citation states that the witnesses reported that Ross allegedly pulled out a revolver, pointed it at someone and “proceeded to fire a round from the revolver.”

Everyone inside the residence agreed that the round Ross allegedly shot was a blank but was “still loud like a gunshot,” and that Ross fled on foot before the police arrived.

Ross is lodged at the Clark County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash bond.

He has already been arraigned in Clark County District Court and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 31.
