After being denied a 39th District Championship by its arch-rival Montgomery County, the George Rogers Clark Cardinals opened play in the Region 10 Tournament in an impressive display of firepower.
The Cards (11-5-6) dropped the hammer on the Mason County Royals in a 10-0 win Monday evening in Montgomery County. Stats from the match were not available as of this writing.
The victory was the second time the Cards had defeated the Royals by double digits this season. They previously defeated their opponents from the north 10-0 on Sept. 20.
GRC will take on Bishop Brossart Thursday evening at 6 p.m. The Mustangs defeated the Cards 2-1 on Aug. 18.
The winner will play either Campbell County or Montgomery County for the regional championship on Saturday at 5 p.m.
