WMU canceled solid waste collection notice; trash pick-up to be Monday

Unless you were surfing the Internet on Friday, maybe looking at the Winchester Sun’s photo gallery of snow pictures, you may have missed this announcement posted to Winchester Municipal Utilities’ web page.
Due to the snow event on Thursday and continued hazardous driving conditions, WMU solid waste collection for Friday, Jan. 7, has been canceled. The main roads are improving, however, many of the secondary roads, alleys and side roads are still impassable for our large solid waste vehicles.
Additionally, sidewalks, driveways and parking lots remain snow covered and iced over making for hazardous conditions for the solid waste collectors.
Those who have Friday solid waste pick-ups will be collected on Monday, Jan. 10. Please have your curb-its and items to be collected to the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday, January 10. If you should have any questions, please contact the WMU Solid Waste Department at (859) 744-1170.
