Clark County Fiscal Court will be discussing Wednesday whether to approve pay increases for employees of the county’s fiscal court.

A special meeting scheduled for Tuesday was rescheduled so that the item could be discussed instead during Wednesday’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Potentially, all fiscal court employees, not just a few key staff members may see a bigger paycheck, but only if there’s money in the budget to pay higher wages, magistrates said.

County department heads will offer their recommendations as to pay increases.

In recent weeks, the court has been considering a $6,920 increase in the assistant treasurer’s salary from $42,500 to $49,420; a $5,492 increase in the CSEPP Director/Manager from $41,932 to $47,424 — both items are on the agenda for Wednesday’s meeting. Magistrates will be considering pay raises for county clerks, sheriff deputies and a road department employee.

Magistrates will be considering the approval of annual budgets for the county clerk and sheriff’s department.

In other business, there will be a a presentation by Danny Crum Harp Enterprises regarding new requirement for voting machines producing a voter verified paper trail.

Also, magistrates are poised to authorize the Judge/Executive to sign documents for Employers Committed to Control Health Insurance Costs (ECCHIC) group for renewal agreement with the fiscal court.

Though there will be modest increase in insurance costs, ECCHIC keeps insurance premiums low for the county by “eliminating the middle-man,” said ECCHIC President Howard Danzig during a recent court meeting. And, there will be a presentation of programs and agreements for Workforce Equus Business Services from Andrew King that is poised to authorize the Judge/Executive to sign agreements.
