Shearer Advisory Council story
The Shearer Elementary Family Resource Center will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, March 27, at the school.
Stool weaving workshop
The Clark County Sassie Craft Homemakers Club is sponsoring a stool weaving workshop at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Clark County Extension Office. The class costs $35, which included all supplies. For more information or to register, call the extension office at 744-4682.
Kiwanis meeting
The Winchester Kiwanis Club will meet at noon Wednesday, March 29, at Taste of China. Guest speaker will be Winn Stephens of the Children’s Advocacy of the Bluegrass.
Clark Fiscal Court meeting Wednesday
The Clark County Fiscal Court will meet in regular session at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Clark County Courthouse. Items on the agenda include approving a lease to finance the new jail boiler and the first reading of two zone change ordinances.
American Legion meeting March 23
American Legion Post 25 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Elks Lodge on Shoppers Drive. All veterans are welcome. First-time attenders should bring a DD214. Officers will be elected.

Winchester Municipal Utilities will perform hydrant flushings at the following locations Wednesday: Albany Court, Albany Lance, Canvasback Lane, Carter Drive, Cherokee Court, Cherokee Drive, Colby Road, Colby Hills Circle, Colby Hills Drive, Duclair Drive, Gadwall Lane, Harney Drive, Hillcrest Drive, Kimberly Drive, Lynda Court, Lyon Drive, Mahan Court, Mahan Drive, McClure Road, McDowell Drive, Pintail Lane, Rose Drive, Runnymeade Drive, Sandra Drive, Senece Drive, Southwind Drive, Stratton Lane, Teal Lane, Terry Drive, Valley Drive, Westmeade Drive and Woodduck Court.
Athletic complex schematics on display
The schematic designs for the George Rogers Clark High School athletic complex are on display at the Clark County Board of Education for viewing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
AARP offers tax preparation help
The AARP Tax-Aide Foundation program will offer free tax preparation, counseling and electronic filing Mondays and Tuesdays until April 18 at the Central Baptist Church annex, 101 W. Lexington Ave. Taxpayers should bring their 2015 tax return and all documents showing 2016 income. Those itemizing should also bring proof of taxes paid and contributions.

The Harold G. Epperson Detachment 1113 of the Marine Corps League will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Whitaker Bank in Stanton.
