Victim in fatal accident identified

The victim of a three-vehicle crash on Lexington Road over the weekend was identified as a Cynthiana woman.
According to the Clark County Coroner’s office, Cathy C. Richie died in the accident, which occurred near Cassell Creek Golf Course on U.S. 60.
Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said the accident remains under investigation and the names of the others involved are not available.
He said Richie was a passenger in one of the vehicles.
The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. Sunday when two vehicles collided head-on, Perdue said. A third vehicle was also involved. Sheriff’s deputies closed the road for about three hours Sunday while they investigated the crash.
Three other people from the accident were transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
An autopsy for Richie was scheduled for Monday.
