One person has been confirmed dead following a three-car accident on U.S. 60 between Winchester and Lexington Sunday afternoon.

According to Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr., the accident occured about 1:45 p.m. The road reopenend about 4:30 p.m. after being closed for accident reconstruction.

Perdue said two cars travelling opposite directions struck each other

“We know it was initially a head-on collision,” Perdue said. “A third car got involved as well.”

Perdue said that in addition to the fatality, other people involved in the accident have been transported to the hospital.

Their condition was not known as of Sunday evening.
