It will take place at 4:30 p.m.

The first alpaca race was run on a concrete track encompassing the newly renovated distillery on May 2, 2020, although the Kentucky Derby was not run that day because of the coronavirus plague.

The winner of the local race, Deputy Distancing, was rewarded with a carrot fed from the mouth of its jockey and a hemp wreath. However, he wasn’t able to run in the Pinchem Stakes and the Rabbit Town run, thus retiring to greener pastures and not completing the Winchester triple crown.

Rumors of the race spread far, and now it has returned with new alpacas, new names, and a new announcer, but along the same storied track.

Wildcat Willy’s chefs will have homemade Derby-style pies available for purchase by the slice or by the pie, and their signature mint juleps will be served in “The Derby the Never Was” collector glasses.

Custom Made Bluegrass will be performing on the bar’s new outdoor stage from 7 to 9 p.m.
