Boonesboro Trail Senior Living offered an early look at its new facility at 2101 Old Boonesboro Road with three presentations and discussions Thursday at Hampton Inn.

Alisha James, community relations director for the newest Trilogy Health Services home in Kentucky, told about 20 people at the 3 p.m. showing that the new facility offers a full range of services from personal care for seniors who need some assistance in their daily living to skilled nursing care, memory care for seniors with dementia, rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or illness, inpatient and outpatient therapy, and also respite care for in-home caregivers.

The 56 apartments include studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom options ranging from 333 to 464 square feet.

Trilogy Health Services has more than 120 facilities in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky, including new facilities in Danville and Bardstown, and The Willows, in three locations in Lexington and one in Harrodsburg.

Boonesboro Trail offers planned outings, restaurant style dining with professional chef services, laundry and housekeeping services, and transportation.

Facilities offered at the new home will have names familiar to Clark County residents, such as Forest Grove and Sky-Vue.

There will be a putting green, “happy hour” with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, learning opportunities for the arts, history, computers, games, a library, a salon, a pharmacy service, flower beds, fireplaces in the living rooms, and a cafe.

Dr. Richard Chamberlain, who was at the 3 p.m. showing with his wife, Laura, and pastor, Mike McCormick of Calvary Christian Church, said the facility was “beautiful.”

“We live near there, so we’ve been watching it go up. … It’s very impressive,” he said. “I think it’ll be great for the residents and great for the community.”

Gene Layne observed that the presentation went into great detail about the food services offered, but he was more interested in learning more about the fitness facilities available, such as a pool and a walking trail.

James said there is no pool planned, and she wasn’t sure about a walking trail, but there will be a fitness center, and the company has a partnership with Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation and can provide transportation to College Park, which has an indoor pool, indoor walking track and fitness center, and Legacy Grove, which offers a long outdoor walking path and children’s playground.

“I think it’s well designed and something that the community needs. The only concern that I have is the physical fitness part of it. … I think eventually they could work out something,” Layne said.

“I’m 86, so I’m looking forward to this,” he said.

Boonesboro Trail is expected to open around April 30. Open house tours are being scheduled for Wednesday, April 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Many of the guests at the presentation Thursday signed up for the tours.
