County surpasses 2,000 COVID cases

Clark County has now exceeded 2,000 COVID cases.

According to the latest report from the local Health Department, from Wednesday, Jan. 20, there have been 2,021 coronavirus cases in the county, including 273 that were active cases on that date. Eighteen people in the county have died of COVID-19, and 1,730 have recovered.

In one week from Jan. 14 through Jan. 20, there were 159 new cases, including 24 Wednesday.

The county’s incidence rate Wednesday was 62.24 positive tests per 100,000 population, which means the county is in the critical or “red zone,” according to the state’s infection level categories. In recent days, it has been as high as the 90s and as low as the 50s. Anything 25 or over per 100,000 is considered to be in the red zone.
