Clark Regional Medical Center recently received a donation of a Cuddle Cot from Maggie’s Light LLC, a non-profit organization based in Georgetown that supports and comforts families who have experienced the loss of a child.
The Cuddle Cot is a device that looks like a Moses basket with a cooling pad that is attached to a specially insulated hose that cools stillborn babies, allowing families extra time to spend with them.
The donation of the Cuddle Cot was made in memory of Paul-Michael Layne Gaines by his family. His niece, Madelyn Lou Case, was born still in 2016.
In addition to the Cuddle Cot, “Maggie’s Kits” and miscarriage kits were also donated to present to families. These kits contain special keepsakes and materials to help parents and families with the grieving process. The donations will be distributed in CRMC’s Center for Women and Babies.
“CRMC is very grateful for the generous donations and hopes the families of Clark and surrounding counties who have to use them will benefit greatly from them in the future,” according to a press release from the hospital.
