Carolyn King, 80, wife of James R. “Jimmy” King, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, on Sept. 29, 1939, to the late Johnson and Sylvia Henry Prewitt.
She was retired from the Clark County School Board Offices, where she oversaw finances and bookkeeping. She previously worked for The Judge Edger Rose, former Clark County Judge, and was a member of First Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two nephews, Ellis (Jennifer) Prewitt and Mark (Anita) Vance; two nieces, Robbyn (Alan) Lessig and Mary Lou (Kim) Warren; several extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Joseph and Susan Vance; and four brothers, Fred Prewitt, Jack Prewitt, William “Bill” Prewitt and Robert “Bobby” Prewitt.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct.1, 2020, at Winchester Cemetery by the Rev. Farley Stuart.
Pallbearers will be Ellis Prewitt, Mark Vance, Mike Reed, David King, Michael Rodes, Jerry Cecil and Billy Hopkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be JoEllen Reed, Penny Chambers, Mary Lou Quertermous, Judy Allen and Shelia Cecil.
