The George Rogers Clark High School men’s golf team competed in their last regular season tournament on Sunday at Kearney Hills Golf Course in Lexington.
The event, orchestrated by Dunbar High School, brought together a number of local teams in an 18-hole playoff, scored both by team and individually.
GRC came in fourth place overall in the event, only four strokes above the winner.
GRC also had two individual Top 10 finishers: Jacob Settles, in third place shooting 76 and Jace Patrick in fourth place shooting 77.
Other GRC players at the event weren’t far behind: Bryce Houchens with 85 , Evan Taylor with 89 and Clay Turley with 90.
“I continue to be amazed at the work ethic and drive of these young men as they continue to improve as a team towards our ultimate goal,” Coach Brandon Franklin said. “They fight for each other until the end in order to represent their school and program to our full potential. We have big things coming from this group and I am happy to be a small part of the process.”
