With the general election barely two months away, it’s time for election signs to begin springing up as well.

City and county ordinances, though, limit the placement and size of such signs to a six-week window beginning Oct. 1 and ending Nov. 15.

According to a statement from the Winchester-Clark County Planning Commission, the ordinance allows for temporary signage up to 4 sq. ft. placed within business and residential zoning districts and up to 32 square-feet in agricultural and industrial zoning districts.

The ordinance does not refer specifically to campaign signs, as the ordinance was amended to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that sign ordinances be content-neutral.
